I have a confession to make. I hit a new low last month.
It’s bloody hard work getting a new blog off the ground and into the blogging hemisphere.
I never put this much effort into my last one, it was fuelled by the inquisitiveness of anyone who knew me or just wanted to show their support, which is why I started Nutshell anonymously. I wanted to see if I could do this on my own.
So after lots of research (ok I read a few blogs) I soon realised I needed to utilise my Twitter account and make connections but what I didn’t bargain for was the lure of the sneaky ‘retweet and follow’ that soon sucked me in.
I’ve always been of the mentality of you’ve got to be in it up win it and love a good competition or six but the ease of entering Twitter comps bedazzled me. Soon I was retweeting and following with blissful abandonment, that is until one fateful morning.
Black #FreebieFriday as it’s now known.
The day I entered a competition to win 2 fluffy pencils.
2 fluffy pencils that had no place in my life, other than the possibility of being re gifted to an unsuspecting 10 year old. ( see my post birthday party etiquette and you’ll understand).
That was the day I put down my iphone, had a little word with myself and vowed never to fall for the lure of the freebie without careful consideration ever again.
I lasted 2 weeks before falling off the wagon.
To a high visibility vest.
With love from lovely Devon.
