Throwing pebbles – My Captured Moment

Throwing pebbles – My Captured Moment

This is one of my favourite photos of all time, not just because it shows a moment of pure, innocent childhood fun but because when I took it, I was sat on the beach on a gloriously sunny August evening with my new baby snuggled in my arms watching some of my favourite people in the world throwing pebbles in the sea. The boys had had their evening swim and it was still warm enough that we didn’t have the post English sea chill that usually results in tears, a rush to get change and a dash home for a hot bath. What you can’t see is the school of white bait that flooded the shore and onto the pebbles as the mackerel chased them in land. It was a truly, one-off moment and one that I’ll remember for many years to come, a perfect captured moment on the East Devon coast.

What a fab picture!! Love this. Some of the best moments are spent splashing about in the sea and water. Lovely captured moment. Jess x #mycapturedmoment

What a beautiful moment to be able to look at! Sometimes you don’t need to be able to see the whole picture to remember it do you? So special

I think it’s more the meaning behind it than the picture it’s self

What a brilliant story behind a lovely photo.
I love throwing pebbles into the sea. Something so cathartic about it for a grown up, yet fun for a child.
