The world’s such an amazing place (when you’re 9 months old)

The world’s such an amazing place (when you’re 9 months old)

I keep having to remind myself that there are so many ‘firsts’ going on for Baby R. What we take for granted can be utterly amazing for this little human thats only graced this earth for 9  months. We follow The Wonder Weeks app which helps determine when he’s going through a developmental leap and so many more firsts are going on, during these leaps the world gets a little bit more exciting which can result in some grumpy moments as he fusses at the overload of information that crowds his growing brain. These fussy periods are tough on us all as my cheeky, chirpy, chappy turns into a whinge monster that we all want to avoid, but as the saying goes, our children need us more when we want to be with them the least!

I love to watch him as he works out how things need to be, how to respond to people and how to reach his goal (usually involving the dog bowl / stairs / wires / food. He has so much determination in his character along with a willingness to cause mischief and while he’s just starting the process of learning cause and effect, I can see the whole new world opening up before him.

Unfortunately this means that there is no longer time to keep still for nappy changes or getting dressed!

Lovely capture. All these firsts are so special and it’s lovely to have something to remember them by.

That’s why I love blogging, I hope he’ll be able to look back in them himself one day.

Fab shot – the black and white really draws your attention to his eyes, busy looking around for mischief by the sounds of it!

Ah Ali I’d forgotten about The Wonder Weeks – I used to follow them avidly when EJ was little – I wonder if they’re still going now he’s like, 31 months… possibly not! Toddler tantrums can happen any time for any reason 🙂 Good luck with the nappy changes – I have to do EJ’s with him standing up (had to do this with his brother too – they are so bloomin’ busy!) Xx #ordinarymoments

Haha! I remember that stage vividly when I am holding a nappy and chasing a kid at the same time. He looks so adorable here. #bwphotoproject

I should try the wonder weeks app; I’ve heard quite a bit about it.

I wish I knew that they wouldn’t always be still on the changing table; a real shock when I discovered this.

What a roller coaster ride of a discovery journey our little ones are on. I’m having a ball through it all, 13m in!

Love the wonder and focus in your little one’s eyes. A beautiful picture with the light in the right places. All the best as you walk this lovely, albeit, bumpy road of so much development; a real privilege.

    Thanks for sharing. #bwphotoproject

I’m loving the Wonder Weeks app, it’s been a life line on the most bumpiest of baby days, its not too late at 13 months either. Thanks for your lovely comments, all the best to you too x
