Random Act of Kindness

Random Act of Kindness

Imagine opening your front door and finding a gift, imagine opening the envelope attached to the gift and still not know who the sender was, imagine reading the words on the note and it striking a chord in your heart so a little tear of happiness wells up in your eye.

Well that’s what happened to me last Friday.

In a random act of kindness someone left a jar of daffodils on my door step with a note saying

May this little small act of kindness

brighten your day

I have absolutely no idea who left it, I’ve studied the handwriting on the envelope, pondered who’d have access to a printer and laminater to create the card, even thought about who shopped at Tesco where I’d seen the same bunches of flowers for sale (only 99% of my village then!)

Was it someone who thought I was a deserving recipient? Had I done something kind for them once that warranted a nice gesture in return? Is it someone who reads my blog and is smiling as they see their gift in all it’s glory on this page? Have they since walked past my house and seen it pride of place on my window sill? Or was I a grumpy old bugger that needed cheering up? I really haven’t got a clue.

In a way I don’t want to know as it’s such a nice puzzle to ponder over. I have a few suspects in mind but until I find out, if I ever do, it’ll be something to remember and hold onto the next time life throws me lemons.

Who ever you are, thank you. Your random act of kindness most definitely brightened my day.
