Our week in photos for Project 365

Our week in photos for Project 365

Another week, another beach. Are you bored yet?

It’s no wonder city visits send me into a spin when all I ever seem to do is visit beaches and go on long country walks. It’s a running theme for this year’s Project 365. The boys have been asking to visit London for quite a few years now, so in a vain attempt to make it happen I created an infographic on how to do London in a weekend and spent the day in Devon’s capital city, Exeter this week to get me in the ‘What’s my motivation?’ type thinking. As a born and bred city girl, it’s bonkers to think how rubbish I am around a few extra people, bus’ and pollution.

My health kick is still going strong I’m happy to report. My kill the sugar campaign has been a success thanks to some gorgeous Deliciously Ella recipes, I thoroughly recommend her almond butter fudge which you keep in the freezer and I’ve been snacking on when I’m in need of an energy boost. Her book has also inspired me to experiment with some of my own recipes, this week I made roasted red pepper humous, miss the garlic, I’m midway through writing it down in a blog recipe post and hope to share with you next week.

In blog world, I’ve been working with a great little online revision website, How Cloud. It’s great when you discover something that you know is going to make a huge difference in your life or in this instance, Teenager’s. He’s just started his GCSE’s and have already booked this time next year to sign him up for some revision courses, trying to find 1-1 tuition and not feel nervous about sending my son to a house with a stranger and not safeguarding in place just didn’t sit right for me.

As you’ll notice in the photos below, Baby R continues to keep us all amused with his inquisitive take on the world. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve had to remind myself he’s just exploring. Unfortunately his exploring this week has been mainly confined to emptying cupboards, the dog water bowl and a strange infatuation with the Dyson.

Each to their own. I guess.

Project 365

  1. Looking cool for the eclipse which was rather disappointing due to a badly timed cloud cover
  2. Fish and chips on the seafront with Tween.
  3. Tween showing off his amazing running jumps. Oh to be 10 again and be able to run and jump without a care in the world (or a Tena Lady) and not looking like I’d forgotten to take my medication.
  4. Another day, another moment of destruction.
  5. Yup, he’s licking the Dyson. I’m hoping he grows out of it by the time he’s 18.
  6. Proof we went shopping in the city as Baby R is dressed in a new outfit rather than one which has been through so many previous family members, it could be certified as an heirloom.
  7. Home made red pepper humous, coming to a blog near you, soon!

His dyson obsession’s a little odd but a sure fire way to cheer him up!

  3. 29th March 2015 / 11:31 am

I love living in the country but like you I do get excited to visit the city but I prefer living in the countryside with the children. I got Deliciously Ella for mothers day 🙂 Lovely pictures x #TWTWC

I was born in Bristol so technically a ‘city girl’ too, although I’ve not lived there in ages. Whenever I go back I always have trouble adjusting to being in a city, I’m so used to sleepy Suffolk now. And, I think I kinda prefer it.

Your red pepper hummous looks delish.

Funny how quickly you adjust to a more laid back way of life. Thank God for Internet shopping!

  5. 29th March 2015 / 11:49 pm

What a busy week – I’d love to be 10 and care free again.

    • 30th March 2015 / 6:55 am

It’s a lovely age, still so innocent but with a little independence

  6. 30th March 2015 / 9:51 am

It was too cloudy for the eclipse here too – my boys were disappointed as they had really hyped it up at school

    • 30th March 2015 / 12:50 pm

I hyped myself up do was really disappointed, in my next life…

It looks like you’ve had a busy week, well done on braving the big(ish) city! I don’t like city’s either, move to the country for a few years and you never want to go back, the kids are always interested though. Popping in from What’s the Story.

    • 31st March 2015 / 9:26 am

It doesn’t take long to adjust to a more secluded way of life does it!

  8. 30th March 2015 / 7:30 pm

Lovely photos hon! Really pleased to hear your health kick is going so well xx #sharethejoy

    • 2nd April 2015 / 8:41 pm

Thanks Erin, they’re fab sunnies and great for protecting him on the beach with the white cliff reflecting the sun.

  9. 1st April 2015 / 3:11 pm

Mmmmm, Fish and Chips by the sea – wish this Welsh weather and sort itself out, we haven’t been able to do that since September. The Dyson picture made my day, I have a similar picture from when my Osh was about 14 months licking sand off a spade at the beach xx #TWTWC

  10. 1st April 2015 / 11:40 pm

That sunglasses photo is so cool, and I love the free running on the beach shot too.

What is it with kids and vacuum cleaners? Our Little Man has a fascination with them at the moment too which mostly takes the form of filling the attachments cavity with trains! Looks like you had a lovely week and I’m SO going looking for that fudge recipe. Thanks for linking up at #sharethejoy this week x

It is amazing, I’m taking up my third batch this weekend. I’l try and make a variant of it and post it on the blog.

I'd love to know what you think?
