QWhen I was first pregnant, baby showers were unheard of, or they were to me anyway. Second time around, they were something you’d read about in Magszines, where celebrities gathered in an LA mansion gifting their famous friend with expensive baby items and drinking expensive champagne. It all looked very nice but pointless.
So while pregnant with Baby R, it never occurred to me that it would be something I’d be doing. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my Mum’s house on a sunny afternoon in April to find a huge bunch of lovely ladies waiting to surprise me with my own. (I actually thought I was going for a waddle with my cousins to offer some breastfeeding advice)
Turns out that baby showers are VERY nice and not in the slightest bit pointless! I was feeling quite low due to a bought of SPD leaving me in pain & unable to walk very far so the timing was perfect.
With an abundance of food, Pimms (for everyone but me!) and even a nappy cake, not to mention good company and LOADS of presents, it was a perfect afternoon.
My perfect captured moment.
