I’m ready and raring to embrace a year of positivity and good vibes.
You have been warned, if you see me grinning like a Cheshire cat it’s not my birth place messing with my inner harmony, Chester may be in my heart but I’ve decided that to feel better within I need a few tweaks on the outside, and I’m starting with a positivity, feel good vibe. Yes, I know smiling enhances my wrinkles, but so does frowning and it’s a proven scientific fact that a smilie person is more attractive than a grumpy one.
Ok, so I might have come to that conclusion myself, but as scientific facts go, I defy anyone to disagree with me, because if you do, just the sheer fact you’re disagreeing will make you grumpy, and possibly me, and let’s be honest, neither of us will look attractive scowling at the screen. fact.
So apart from smiling more, whats else is in my tool kit?
And lots of it! I’ve got my Fitbit charged (now I’ve found it again) and I’m back on track for my 10000 steps challenge. I have more energy and much better skin when I’ve been out and about more. No more lazy days, mini dog walks and driving when I should be walking.
More Me Time
I’ve neglected ‘me’ for quite a while now. The most I’ve managed in between running 2 business’ (yes blogging is a business) and looking after 3 children, is a 20 minute bath, on a good day. My youngest and most dependant, gorgeous toddler is super sociable. So I think it’s high time I used his personality to my advantage, get some childcare sorted and book myself in for a spa session once in a while.
Have a Make Up Makeover
I have been wearing the same style make up for years and its high time I had a look what else is out there. My plan is to visit a beauty counter and get some advice. I need inspiration and most of the contents of my make up bag is probably out of date so it’s the perfect excuse, I recently read an article over on The Huffington Post which talked of out of date makeup containing deadly bacteria!
Invest in Quality Face Creams
I’m actually quite good at looking after my skin but 2016 will see me step away from the bargain aisle and invest in some quality face creams which will (hopefully) hold back the years. I’ve fully accepted that I’m 40. It wasn’t an easy transition I’ll admit, but new year, new me and grieving for years gone by is just not on the 2016 agenda.
I’m on a mission to make this a happy, positive 2016. These aren’t resolutions, they’re promises.
And if mama aint happy, ‘aint nobody happy!
