If Mama Aint Happy, Aint Nobody Happy! My Positivity Promises

If Mama Aint Happy, Aint Nobody Happy! My Positivity Promises

I’m ready and raring to embrace a year of positivity and good vibes.

You have been warned, if you see me grinning like a Cheshire cat it’s not my birth place messing with my inner harmony, Chester may be in my heart but I’ve decided that to feel better within I need a few tweaks on the outside, and I’m starting with a positivity, feel good vibe. Yes, I know smiling enhances my wrinkles, but so does frowning and it’s a proven scientific fact that a smilie person is more attractive than a grumpy one.

Ok, so I might have come to that conclusion myself, but as scientific facts go, I defy anyone to disagree with me, because if you do, just the sheer fact you’re disagreeing will make you grumpy, and possibly me, and let’s be honest, neither of us will look attractive scowling at the screen. fact.

So apart from smiling more, whats else is in my tool kit?

Fresh Air

And lots of it! I’ve got my Fitbit charged (now I’ve found it again) and I’m back on track for my 10000 steps challenge. I have more energy and much better skin when I’ve been out and about more. No more lazy days, mini dog walks and driving when I should be walking.

More Me Time

I’ve neglected ‘me’ for quite a while now. The most I’ve managed in between running 2 business’ (yes blogging is a business) and looking after 3 children, is a 20 minute bath, on a good day. My youngest and most dependant, gorgeous toddler is super sociable. So I think it’s high time I used his personality to my advantage, get some childcare sorted and book myself in for a spa session once in a while.

Have a Make Up Makeover

I have been wearing the same style make up for years and its high time I had a look what else is out there. My plan is to visit a beauty counter and get some advice. I need inspiration and most of the contents of my make up bag is probably out of date so it’s the perfect excuse, I recently read an article over on The Huffington Post which talked of out of date makeup containing deadly bacteria!

Invest in Quality Face Creams

I’m actually quite good at looking after my skin but 2016 will see me step away from the bargain aisle and invest in some quality face creams which will (hopefully) hold back the years. I’ve fully accepted that I’m 40. It wasn’t an easy transition I’ll admit, but new year, new me and grieving for years gone by is just not on the 2016 agenda.

I’m on a mission to make this a happy, positive 2016. These aren’t resolutions, they’re promises.

And if mama aint happy, ‘aint nobody  happy!

how I keep positive and why it's so important for the health of your family

I’ve come to the realisation I need to look after me more. It’s all about everyone & everything else and I’ve been totally neglecting myself and I’m exhausted. The make up counter idea is fab, plus a trip to the hairdressers too I think x #BrilliantBlogPosts

Its not being selfish making sure we’re doing ok, as at the end of the day, who else looks after us?

No need for frowns, I completely agree with you 🙂 Oh I saw something recently about out of date make up – it’s actually a bit scary isn’t it. I definitely want to get outside more too – fresh air and sunshine heals a lot 🙂 Mim x #brilliantblogposts

Thanks Mim, so glad you agree! This cold airs really refreshing but it was skittle too brisk out on the headland this morning. Time for hats me thinks.

I’m really trying to claw back a few hours so I’m ready to take on all the fun and frolics of being a mum of 3.

Good luck with all you want to achieve in 2016. More me time sounds an excellent plan 🙂

Oh I totally recommend Bare Minerals, for make-up, I had a great experience at their counter in the autumn. And Liz Earle for skincare – it has made my skin its best ever. But I think your first point is the bet, fresh air and exercise has to be the best for making me happy, and it can still be ‘me time’ too! #Sharethejoy

thanks for the Liz Earle tip, I wouldn’t have even considered them but will see if I can bag a few testers next time I’m in town.

Great tips on being more positive. I love your idea with the make up make over. That Huffington Post article was a total eye-opener for me, and I’ll definitely be throwing out some of my make-up after mentions of those bacteria! Thanks so much for sharing, so glad I found you on Share the Joy this week 🙂

Thanks Maria, it got me thinking to. I had make up older than my teenager in my bag which has now been binned. I’ve loved having an overhaul and streamlining all my collection.

Yay! I’m big on SMILING as you know so get your grin on because science proves that it actually CAN make you happier 🙂 Love all your me-time plans too – definitely the way forward for a more positive 2016. Thanks so much for linking up at #sharethejoy (and have you had a little blog makeover too? Looking lovely and shiny!)
