Image of the week – A Devon beach

Image of the week – A Devon beach

I’m joining in with Image of the Week over at Truly Madly Kids, the topic this week is beaches.

This shot was taken standing on Jacobs Ladder in Sidmouth, Devon, looking out to the sea. Although the beach and its calm waters look so inviting, my eye is always drawn to the kriss¬†cross of aeroplane lines in the sky. It’s been a few years since I’ve been on an aeroplane and my thoughts are always with the lucky holiday makers, flying off to warmer climates.

On a hot summers day it’s a completely different scene here, full of families and chatter but it’s this time of year where the beaches are still relatively quiet, which I love the most.
