It’s not for the first time that I’ve shared a boot love thing on the pages of Mum in a Nutshell. I’m a boot loving gal and new ones give me an extra spring in my step. (see what I did there) Do know what else makes this funky footed mamma happy? A bargain.
I seldom purchase things without making sure I’ve got the bestest possible deal. Some might say thrifty, to others it’s being financially shrewd, but with children growing at a rate of knots, flippancy with the pennies isn’t an option. And here lies the problem. I have standards, or champagne taste with a lemonade purse as my mother often remarks. And as I get older I’m finding I’m more likely to opt for quality over quantity which makes bargain hunting just a wee bit more challenging.
Take boots, for example, I love a decent pair of quality boots. The kind I can chuck on with my skinny jeans. The kind I can wear out for lunch or nip to the shops in, that look good and fit like a glove. So what are my go to boots? Well that’ll be my London Fly boots.
I’ve been a huge supporter of this iconic brand for a few years now and have owned a few pairs, but these beauties don’t come cheap. When you get something both comfortable and stylish, made from real Portuguese leather then it is reflected in the price and so each pair which have graced my collection, there’s been some serious leg work to find the best price. (and there it is again, cue rimshot)
Thankfully Cloggs Footwear have saved any prospective new boot shopper the trouble which is exactly where my latest and most lustworthy boot member has come from. Perfectly timed to replace a worn out brown pair, these London Mes 2 London Fly mid calf boot are a welcome addition from the Cloggs Footwear sale. I’ve opted for a vibrant red pair this time, a step away from my usual brown boot.
Brightening up the damp dreary winter days with a shot of colour and taking me out of my comfort zone. The Mes 2 boot is a more sturdier build than my previous ones and luckily waterproof ( the older styles weren’t so good at keeping my feet dry!)
But if red isn’t your colour, there’s plenty more styles over on the Cloggs website and half the fun’s choosing. I found delivery fast and problem free with regular email updates on the status of my order so there was no guessing game as to when they’d arrive. And with lots of top name brands to choose, from UGG to Hunter wellies and Converse, there really is something for everyone (I’m seriously tempted by the mini UGGs to add a funky touch to the toddler’s wardrobe.)
Now that springs just around the corner, it’ll soon be time to take a serious look at my spring / summer footwear.
Not that I ever need much persuading!
