I consider myself a fairly easy-going when it comes to most things, but there are a few occasions which I’m a little fussy about and coffee is probably number one in that category. I like a good wine, but won’t turn my nose up at a house Pinot, chocolate, most days its Cadbury only, but if I’ve got the chocolate munchies, cooking chocolate will do, yet given the option of an instant coffee and I’ll have to seriously weigh up the need for caffeine or a reason to pass.
I’m a coffee snob and proud. There I said it.
I’ll take a cafetiere, brew a coffee bag or my current, no-nonsense favorite way to quench my coffee snob fix – pop in a Tassimo disc. I’m not a stranger to a coffee machine, quite the opposite, I’m all too aware how convenient they are. What makes my newest Tassimo machine different is the size and shape, and above all not taking too much precious worktop space, along with having some bang tidy disc holders having a full range of options to hand.
Coffee pod machines make light work of brewing up the perfect cuppa. I’m all for traditional methods and nothing beats the waft of fresh coffee brewing in the morning. What I don’t love though is the mess that goes with my cafetiere; the sink, the worktops spillages from bag to jug, the overspill from the food afterward – Not good.
There’s none of this business with a Tassimo. I just select my preference – Costa Americano first thing, Costa Latte mid-morning and a relaxing Chai Latte in the afternoon. It’s just a case of popping the coffee or creamer pod in and pressing a button. (There’s a huge choice of drinks available!)
My teenagers are usually on hot chocolate duties, and as they’ll oblivious of any mess that seems to magnify the minute they prepare anything in the kitchen, this conquers one mum moan out. Can I say it’s child’s play? Is that appropriate? Not that I’d let the little chap in charge of it for one minute, teenagers though, definitely. There are no boiling water worries, all they have to do is fill up the water container, pop the pod in, press the button and ta-da! it even delivers the right amount of water automatically.
On that note, I’m gasping and it is sooooooo time for a coffee break, or do I feel like a latte, maybe even a macchiato? I’m like an
I’m like my own personal, in-house barista… How cool is that!
