Christmas time for toddlers is the start of a whole magical journey, but it’s also an age when you don’t need to go crazy. They rarely ask for anything and get just as much pleasure out of opening the present as they do playing with it. So this year I’m going low key, (my older 2 make up for it!) instead just keeping it stocking fillers made up of toys which I think / hope will keep my boy happy for 10 minutes while I put the washing on the line or an activity we can do together.
And as much as I’ve tried to resist the lure of TV character toys, he’s been well and truly bitten by the Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol bug. I know that he will be utterly delighted to see some of his favourite characters so I’ve snuck these in. My 2 favourite gifts ,however, have got to be this super cute baking kit by Baked. I have a budding chef for a son who adores baking and this set has a nod to George (Peppa Pig’s brother) and his love of dinosaurs so I am pretty certain he will love, love, love it.
The second is a treat for both myself and my lively, bedtime loon of a son. The In The Night Garden Bedtime Book is cleverly written to induce sleepy feelings through suggestive sleep words. Reading it calms him down brilliantly. So whether you’re going all out OTT this Christmas for your toddler or just looking for some ideas for stocking fillers, here’s what’s on my must buy list this year.
Peppa Pig cup and plate set (currently reduced in Amazon)
Paw Patrol walkie talkies
Vtech teletubbies Time to Rhyme
