Well this week certainly ended on a high for some members of my family, after Vodafone very kindly sent complimentary tickets to Capital FM’s Summertime Ball in Wembley. I say some as Baby R and I weren’t included in that announcement <sob>
I’m typing this as I eagerly await the arrival of the bigger boys & man to return back to the fold, older (ok by a day!) wiser and smugger after they were initiated into the amazing world of music concerts. I do have photos though, and a half written up blog post which I will share later in the week and there may or may not be a photo of a half naked Jason Derulo ( for anyone not familiar with current pop, you’ll still be impressed with this man candy that bestows your very eyes) I should probably point out at this point that my selfless sister stepped in to take my place (hence the half naked men photos) to schmooze with the generous & lovely Vodaphone PR lady, Claire, while my husband could fully concentrate on J
ess Glynne our boys.
While all this was occurring Baby R & I joined my Mum & Step Dad for Pealla on the beach which is hosted by Chef Grant from Bay View Tea Rooms in Beer, Devon. Although it wasn’t a balmy summer evening, it was still warm enough to sit & eat out while mingling with the other Paella diners and BBQ-ers on the beach.
This week also included a couple of return to work days for me leaving Daz in charge of Baby R & school runs. I’m guessing by the way he skipped out the door Wednesday morning that becoming a full time stay at home Dad isn’t in his short term goal planning.
So after 2 days of not seeing my baby in the day time I was adamant that we spent quality time doing fun things so we ventured up to The Donkey Sanctuary, swimming and more beach days and it was also another first for Tween as he went off on a school residential trip for 3 days. It’s the longest we’ve ever been apart and I’m aching to spend some time with my middle boy. Man was I missing him by yesterday afternoon, after a brief catch up on Friday night he was off jet setting to Wembley the next morning. Lots of cuddles and chit chats are scheduled for the next few days.
On that note I’m off to prepare for warm welcome for my brood and make them tell me everything about their weekend alway, I may even be lucky enough for a soppy welcome home hug from Teenager before he dives off to his room to begin some serious bragging rights.
