It’s been a mixed bag of weather this half term, so when the sun shines we head straight outdoors and after last week’s fashion faux pax I made sure the little one was suitably dressed for an autumn walk (and not like he’d escaped from Dartmoor prison as a passerby commented last week.)
Sporting a wooly number complete with ears and fold over cuffs he caught the eye of many a fellow dog walker. Chatting and passing the time away with anyone who stopped and smiled. Don’t let the vacant stare trick you, I’m beginning to wonder if this is his camera pose. The tongue hanging out is a little giveaway to the fun he was plotting on our walk through the Byes in Sidmouth.
Teething and developmental leaps served up the perfect concoction for protests at not being able to touch stinging nettles, carry bags of dog poo and hand holding. Though gentle reminders why he couldn’t do what he wanted we made our way through the fallen leaves and back to the car. Stopping now and then to out him back in his buggy to gain a few extra steps without distraction.
Luckily we had all morning to toddle on our latest adventure and with very patient brothers and even more patient dog. Walking with the Toddler in the autumn sun was a perfect way to spend an October Saturday.
