Inspiration For A Scandinavian Theme Christmas Decorating

Inspiration For A Scandinavian Theme Christmas Decorating

I’ll be giving our Christmas decor a rethink this year. We’ll be getting a real tree for the first time since having children and I don’t think our usual bronze and gold theme will compliment it, so have decided to switch to a Scandinavian style one. Opting for shades of red and white which will compliment our grey decor along with the rustic mantle and shelving.

I’ve already started with a few nicely priced decs from Waitrose and my web browsing lead me to Next and Dunelm mill. My plan is to try and mix traditional tones of Christmas with hints of white washed wood effect and I’m trawling pinterest for craft ideas which I hope the boys will help with. (I’m clutching at straws here I know!

But a mum can dream….plus Santa’s watching so they’ll be on their best behaviour.

Really lovely things. My house is quite old and traditional so I have a tradition tree with red and gold decorations. I love the letter lights, I’d have these up all year round! x

Me too, I’m terrible for leaving some decs up as I can’t stand seeing it all so bare.

I have always wanted to see a Scandinavian Christmas, what is it that you like about it? Do you have a Scandi- background?

This post gets me so very excited for Christmas. I love the Scandinavian decorations you have chosen. Great theme, really lovely. The NOEL light is especially beautiful and would look lovely on cold winter nights. x

I love all of this – it’s such a great look isn’t it? I’m not sure if we’ll be having decs up this year, but if I were I’d be sorely tempted to go for this look.

No decs? I don’t think I could bear Christmas without the decorations I get more excited about that than anything!

I love to theme my decorations but hubby likes a more random look so we have a themed tree and then more random decs around the living room as a compromise for now 😉 I love the look your going for, really stylish, it’s my dream to visit Scandinavia at Christmas xx

I like that they celebrate it so differently, would be a real change to experience a Scandinavian Christmas

These pictures are all gorgeous, it’s a beautiful style. Hope you enjoy your real tree! Mmm.. the smell of a real tree, you just can’t beat it. I love the tree skirt in your bottom image, do you know where it’s from?

Beautiful decorations, inadvertently we end up decorating in a similar styles. As we have a lot of red and white decorations with a rustic/handmade feel. I can’t wait to get them out of the loft!! xx
