How’s your week going? If you’re anything like me you’re floating in a bubble of guilt from chocolate gluttony and vowing to live a sugar free life at least until Christmas. I’ve taken a long hard look at my diet and it’s not great if I’m honest so I’m revisiting my healthy living goals which I set around this time last year. The only thing which differs this time round is that I have the full support of my eldest son who is educating me on diet and exercise with the help of his GCSE PE revision.
Apparently I buy too much rubbish sugary snacks, cheeky! (funnily enough, he’s the first to complain when there’s no biscuits left) So I’ve been getting out and about as much as possible chasing the Toddler around the East Devon coast.
Any way, on to the link up which I’m returning as co host with the positivity inspiring Michelle at The Joy Chaser
Welcome back to Share the Joy. Bloggers, writers, artists, poets, if creating something made you laugh out loud, opened your heart, raised your spirits or just made you smile – you’re welcome here! Link up and share your creations with a wider audience. All genres are welcome – new or old favourites and as many links as you like!
Each week, Michelle picks a favorite piece and features it on the following week’s Share the Joy link up (she’s also made a Pinterest board where you’ll find all her favorites in one place).
Last week I loved reading Gossip is good for you by First Tooth. Living in a Devonshire village gossip is rife and I’m not ashamed to admit I love a good chin wag with my sister and BFF Sue. Sure it can turn nasty if facts aren’t right, malicious or verging on bullying but it can also be fun, I stay away from negative, favouring funny stories or ones championing something great that someone’s done. Much nicer to spread a little joy rather than inflict sadness.
I changed my take on gossip many years ago after reading in one of my degree text books, that gossip can be good. That it controls behaviour and sets a bench mark for what’s considered acceptable by which everyone can adhere to. The shear thought of being THAT person which everyone talks about is enough to curb my behaviour anyway.
Today I’m sharing 12 months of surprises. A gift that keeps on giving idea and how I’m executing it with the help of my brother and sister. It’s not so much about over indulgences but more about showing our mum that although we’re all incredibly busy getting on with our lives, my sister; the teacher and busy mum of 3 and my brother the mature university student planning his forth coming wedding, that we can still make time for her, 1 day a month for 12 months exclusively for her.
But now it’s over to you, let’s Share the Joy!
Here’s a reminder of the 3 really simple rules…
1) Link up a creation that has brought you JOY – all genres are welcome, new or old favourites and as many links as you like!
2) Link back either by including the Share the Joy badge (below) or a text link back to this Share the Joy linky page in your own post.
3) Please comment on one of your hosts’ posts and a few others. Let’s Share the JOY through commenting as well as through our posts!
Share the Joy will run for a whole week until the following week’s linky is open, so you’ll never be too late. And don’t forget to tweet me (@Muminanutshell) or Michelle (@thejoychaser) the url to your post using the hashtag #sharethejoylinky so we can retweet it.
Feel free to invite your friends to join in – JOY is always better when it’s shared!
