Baby led weaners I have found your perfect lunch box!
End of post.
No honestly, I’ll level with you, review opportunities can be exciting and I love seeing how things fair up when they land on my door step, but I’m actually rather choosy and turn down quite a few things as I don’t enjoy writing just for the sake of writing. With that in mind I was a little apprehensive about checking out a little plastic box. It turns out though this wasn’t just an ordinary little plastic box, this was a Yumbox, plastic box of dreams.
Seriously, my expectations were low but my reaction was high!
So what was it that caught my eye?
Where to start? I love the little compartments that remind you of all the important food groups that make up a good, healthy lunch, I love the little drawings that hide at the bottom of each compartment, encouraging your child to eat up their lunch to see the picture, and I love that I can put solid, liquid and chucks of food and they won’t end up at a big squishy mess after a trip in the bottom of the pushchair.
This was our first thrown-together such which I took out on our first test drive, at 11 months Baby R is getting more and more independent with his feeding skills. We do a mixture of baby led weaning and spoon feeding, but he is leaning more towards doing things for himself, so I packed a selection of little bite size foods he could explore and eat.
Sat in a high chair in a restaurant, he dived straight in to see what was on offer, with different colours, flavours and textures, he sat happily eating and exploring while I got to eat a whole meal without interruption. That’s a rarity for any meals these days, proving Baby R loves his new YumBox!
I’ve since discovered a whole world of Yumbox creations over on Pinterest so have started my own board of favourites, if you’re already a Yumbox user and would like to share your creations feel free to email me to me added to the board. I’m never realised how addictive Yumboxing would be (is that even a word?)[pin_board url=”https://www.pinterest.com/MumInaNutshell/yum-box-ideas/”]
Anyway, I think you’ve gathered by now how impressed I am with this piece of plastic perfection.
So, what goodies would you put in yours then?
